Risk Considerations

Equity Risk. An investment in a portfolio containing common stocks is subject to certain risks, such as an economic recession and the possible deterioration of either the financial condition of the issuers of the equity securities or the general condition of the stock market.

Asia Pacific Risk. Certain securities held by the portfolio are issued by companies in the Asia Pacific region, making the portfolio more susceptible to the economic, market, regulatory, political, natural disasters and local risks of the Asia Pacific region. The region has historically been highly dependent on global trade which creates a risk with this dependency on global growth. The stock markets tend to have a larger prevalence of smaller companies that are inherently more volatile and less liquid than larger companies.

Buy & Hold Risk – Taxable Trusts. This UIT is a buy and hold strategy and investors should consider their ability to hold the trust until maturity. There may be tax consequences unless units are purchased in an IRA or other qualified plan.

China Concentration Risk. China's emerging market economy may be subject to over-extension of credit, currency devaluations and restrictions, decreased exports, economic recession, a reversal of economic liberalization, political unrest or changes in China's trading status. A deterioration of the relationship with the United States could have negative implications on issuers from these countries.

COVID-19 Economic Impact Risk. Local, regional or global events such as war, acts of terrorism, spread of infectious diseases or other public health issues, recessions, or other events could have a significant negative impact on the portfolio and its investments. Such events may affect certain geographic regions, countries, sectors and industries more significantly than others. The recent outbreak of a respiratory disease designated as COVID-19 was first detected in China in December 2019. The global economic impact of the COVID-19 outbreak is impossible to predict but is expected to disrupt manufacturing, supply chains and sales in affected areas, negatively impact global economic growth prospects, and could result in a substantial economic downturn or recession.

Foreign Securities Risk. An investment in securities of foreign issuers should be made with an understanding of the additional risks involved, such as currency fluctuations, political risk, withholding, the lack of adequate financial information, and exchange control restrictions impacting foreign issuers.

Latin America Concentration Risk. Certain of the securities held by the trust are issued by companies headquartered or incorporated in Latin America. These securities may be subject to currency risks, such as restrictions on the flow of money in and out of a country, extreme volatility relative to the U.S. dollar, and devaluation, all of which could decrease the value of investments in Latin American companies.

Volatility Risk. The value of the securities held by the trust may be subject to steep declines or increased volatility due to changes in performance or perception of the issuers.

Operational Risk. As the use of Internet technology has become more prevalent in the course of business, the trust has become more susceptible to potential operational risks through breaches in cybersecurity.

Income distributions per unit will vary with changes in dividends received on the underlying securities and with changes in the trust's fees and expenses. Principal distributions per unit will be made only when the trust receives principal cash and will therefore vary. Both income and principal distributions may be affected by the sale of securities in the portfolio. Refer to the prospectus for a further discussion of the factors which could affect income and principal distributions.
