A Bloomberg survey of 20 equity strategists published on September 22, 2026, found that the average 2026 year-end price target for the S&P 500 Index was 7,970. The highest and lowest estimates were 8,410 and 7,400, respectively. For comparison, the S&P 500 Index closed at 7,764.70 on September 21, 2026, down from a record 7,798.99 on August 13, 2026.
