The U.S. Department of the Treasury reported that foreign holdings of U.S. Treasuries totaled $9.30 trillion in June 2026, down from $9.37 trillion in May 2026, but up 2.3% year-over-year, according to Reuters. Japan and the U.K. were the largest foreign holders of Treasuries in June, at $1.12 trillion and $0.94 trillion, respectively. Despite a decline of more than 13% year-over-year, China remains the third-largest foreign holder of U.S. Treasuries, with $0.63 trillion in June 2026.
