On July 28, 2026, an Airbus A350-1000ULR set an unofficial record for the longest nonstop test flight by a commercial airliner, traveling 14,338 miles from Melbourne, Australia to Toulouse, France in 24 hours and 24 minutes, according to Reuters. The first delivery of the aircraft, which is modified to carry an additional 20,000 liters of fuel (approximately 5,283 U.S. gallons) and seat 238 passengers, is scheduled for April 2027. In 2005, a Boeing 777-200LR Worldliner flew a record 13,422 miles from Hong Kong to London in 22 hours and 42 minutes.
