The Semiconductor Industry Association reported that worldwide sales of semiconductors increased by 25% quarter-over-quarter to $298.5 billion in Q1’26. Global sales totaled $99.5 billion in March 2026, up 79.2% year-over-year. On a total-return basis, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index climbed 48.0% year-to-date through July 29, 2026, versus 10.5% for the S&P 500 Information Technology Index and 7.6% for the S&P 500 Index, according to data from Bloomberg.
