Kelley Blue Book reported that the average U.S. new vehicle transaction price (ATP) totaled $50,080 in September 2025, an increase of 3.6% year-over-year. The figure marks the first time the ATP of new vehicles surpassed $50,000. Automobiles with an ATP of $75,000 or higher accounted for 7.4% of new vehicle sales during the month, up from 6.0% in September 2024. Electric vehicle sales accounted for a record 11.6% of all new vehicle sales in September, despite their ATP increasing by 3.5% month-over-month.
