In its Cost of a Data Breach Report 2025, IBM revealed that data breaches cost the world's organizations an average of $4.44 million per incident between March 2024 and February 2025, down from $4.88 million per incident from March 2023 to February 2024. Organizations in the U.S. and the Middle East reported the highest average cost of a data breach at $10.22 million and $7.29 million per incident, respectively, over the period. The healthcare industry had the highest average cost per data breach, at $7.42 million per incident over the time frame.
