  1. The S&P 500 Pure Growth Index is comprised of 117 companies. The factors used to select them include sales growth, earnings change to price and momentum. (S&P)
  2. The S&P 500 Pure Value Index is comprised of 128 companies. The factors used to select them include book value to price, sales to price and dividend yield. (S&P)
  3. Over the past 10 calendar years (2001-2010), the S&P 500 Pure Value Index outperformed the S&P 500 Pure Growth Index in 6 of the 10 years.
  4. Over the first 11 months of 2011, the S&P 500 Pure Growth Index posted a total return of 2.14%, compared to a loss of 0.35% for the S&P 500 Pure Value Index.
  5. For the 10-year period ended 11/30/11, the S&P 500 Pure Value Index's average annual total return was 7.09%, compared to 5.41% for the S&P 500 Pure Growth Index, or an average of 168 basis points more per year for the S&P 500 Pure Value Index.
  6. The dividend yield on the S&P 500 Pure Value Index's yield stood 116 basis points above the S&P 500 Pure Growth Index's on 11/30/11 (1.99% vs. 0.83%).
